NuoDB Innovates SQL Databases

NuoDB was founded by Barry S. Morris and Jim Starkey in 2008. Jim Starkey created the platform that NuoDB is based off of, and Mr. Morris went on to become the CEO and executive board member of the company. They have received a number of recognition award for their innovative style and the progress they have made in the technology industry. They were recorded as being a key player in the Operational Database Management System’s Magic Quadrant. Gartner listed them again, two years later, as being a Visionary influence in the same category. Both Mass High Tech and Boston Business Journal put NuoDB in their lists of the Innovation All Stars in the year 2014.

By the end of 2016, NuoDB had raised over $50 million in funding form various investors like Longworth Venture, Dassault Systemes, and Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. NuoDB is making waves within the industry because they have completely changed the way that people approach SQL databases. They use an elastic system that allows objects to be placed all around the cloud. This means that more servers that are added to the database, the faster it is able to run without sacrificing any security in the process.
