The Big Men And The Rest Of The NBA

You’ve got to wonder, who is the best player in the NBA?  Has the NBA center position become an endangered species? 3-point shooting is now the norm but this does not mean there aren’t some of the best NBA centers. DeMarcus Cousins offers this position the most. He can bang inside but has also developed a nice 3-point touch. Marc Gasol is more of a prototypical center.

A big body with a great eye for passing and the ability to hit mid-range jump shots. Andre Drummond is a double-double machine as he led the league in rebounding. While not an offensive juggernaut, DeAndre Jordan’s athletic ability is breath-taking, which puts him at the upper echelon of NBA centers. The young Karl-Anthony Towns has also made a huge impression on this position in his first two seasons.

But do any of these NBA centers rank at the top of all the current NBA players? The game has changed drastically the past decade with focus falling on outside shooting and speed. It’s a toss-up as to who would rank higher, LeBron James or Steph Curry. Either way you can’t lose. The point guard position carries a lot of weight at the top.

Russell Westbrook and James Harden are scratching on Curry’s heels. Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard and John Wall also have some say. The talent at the forward position is just as fierce. Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard, along with James, are the biggest names. Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge round out the top talent at forward.
